Happy Saturday to you all. How has your weekend been so far? Did you have a nice week? My week was pretty busy with a lot of schoolwork and a little bit of cheer. I originally intended to write this post somewhere between Wednesday and Thursday but time got away from me! Luckily yesterday our football team had a bye so there was no cheer and I got to catch up on my sleep. I feel like I hardly sleep any during the school week since I’m always so tired by the weekends.
Today I wanted to share with you my everyday makeup routine, or as I like to call it, my no-makeup makeup look. This is the makeup I wear to school everyday, the best part being it only takes fifteen minutes or less! I’m sure I could probably do it in 5-10, but I like to take my time in the morning when I’m super tired and still waking up. Most of these products are either from the drugstore or came in my Ipsy subscription bags, so everything is very affordable and perfect for a student.
Let’s get into the routine!
I always start my makeup routine by moisturizing and washing my face, basically following my morning skincare routine. After that, I first use my Maybelline Age Rewind concealer under my eyes, on my forehead, chin, the bridge of my nose, and any spots that I have, and I blend this in with my (super dirty) beauty blender. I love this concealer – it does a great job of covering up areas I want it to, but I also have insane dark circles that unfortunately are not covered with this one.
The next thing I do is go over my concealer with a light BB cream. I’m currently using the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream in the shade Buttercream 03. I’ve only used a couple of BB creams/tinted moisturizers so I don’t really have a lot to compare this one to, but I think it’s alright. I like how light and barely there it is while still giving a little bit of coverage. It’s definitely only for very minimal coverage though, so I’d suggest getting a heavier BB cream if you want a little bit more coverage.
Next I set my concealer and BB cream using my Jane Iredale pressed powder. I’m not entirely sure what shade I am, since I’ve had this powder forever. I’m just sweeping it all over my face, focusing on my chin, nose, and forehead as I tend to get the oiliest there. Depending on how much time I have and how oily my skin is, I may also use a translucent powder on top of that as well just to really set my concealer and keep the oil on my nose at bay. I’m using a Jane Iredale powder brush as well.
After I’ve powdered my face, I go in with my Tarte Amazonian Clay bronzer in the shade Park Ave Princess. This bronzer is very light and buildable, but I like to use just a little bit for everyday. I dust this under my cheekbones, along my jawline, down my neck and across my forehead as well. I’ll switch between this bronzer and the Benefit Hoola one, but right now I’ve been using this one a lot. I love the way it looks – subtle but also gives the right amount of definition.
Blush time! I don’t currently have a favorite blush – I’ve been using the ones that come in my Ipsy bags. I had fallen in love with my Seraphine Botanicals blush, but I accidentally dropped it on the floor and it shattered into a million pieces, rendering it useless. Right now, I’m using my Pixi Peach Honey blush duo. This product is super pigmented and pretty and I’m really loving it right now. I’m just sweeping it across the apples of my cheeks and blending it in.
Highlighter is my all-time favorite beauty product. I love the natural, shimmery, glowy look it gives and I’m absolutely obsessed with it! My favorite highlighter at the moment is the Nomad highlighter in the color Midnight Sun. I apply this to my cheekbones, my nose, and Cupid’s bow using my finger and it always looks amazing. I love this product so so so much, I’m not sure I can possibly rave about it enough!
I already have naturally dark, full eyebrows, so I only fill in my eyebrows just a little bit to accentuate them a little. I use the darkest shade in this little e.l.f eyeshadow quad I’ve had forever, and I fill them in using just a regular eyeshadow brush. Because I already like the shape of my eyebrows, I don’t have to do much to change them.
I never do eyeshadow, partly because I never have the time, but mainly because I’ve never really learned how to do it. But I do like to highlight my eyes a little bit using theBalm Cosmetics theBalm Voyage. This pretty gold shade is perfect for my skin tone and I love it. I apply this shade minimally to the arches of my eyebrows, and more prominently in the corner of my eyes using my finger. I love this product because it stays all day, even if I rub my eyes.
Next is mascara! I’m currently using the L’Oreal Butterfly Intenza mascara. I don’t apply a whole lot of mascara because I always end up accidentally crossing the fine line between thick volume and clumpy. Instead, I apply one coat to my top and bottom lashes but I really focus on applying the product on each lash, from the root to the tip. In the second picture, I have applied mascara to the eye on the left but not the eye on the right. As you can see, it doesn’t make a huge difference, but it’s definitely there and that really adds to the no-makeup look.
Finally, I finish my look with my Hanalei Lip Treatment in the color Rose. This lip balm is super pretty and not very pigmented, just enough to add a little extra something. I think it looks very natural but also incredibly beautiful and I love it so much. I received this product in an Ipsy bag a while ago and it’s by far one of the best ones I’ve ever gotten.
And that’s the finished look! As you can tell, it’s super natural and could pass as no makeup at all. I love this look so much – it’s dewy, glowy and super cute. And the best part? It’ll only take around fifteen minutes of your time to complete. My tips for the no-makeup makeup look are just to really focus on your skin – concealer, highlight, bronzer. This will give the appearance of naturally clear and glowing skin without looking over-done or heavily made-up. Of course, everyone has their different preferences, but I prefer my makeup to be simple, subtle, and sweet.
I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial on my everyday makeup look! Do you wear makeup everyday? What’s your go-to no-makeup makeup product?
Enjoy your weekend, my loves!
