Festive Favorites | November 2017

Hello friends!

Let me just take a little bit of your time to apologize for my absence! I feel like lately every time I write a post I’m having to start off with an apology, but I do mean it. To disappear for over a month and then reappear with a sponsored post; it’s not typical of my blog. But I’m telling you, life is absolutely crazy right now. School is by far kicking my butt, and I’ve been so tired after school that I haven’t had any time to write. Not to mention that by the time I normally get home, there isn’t lighting fair enough for quality photos. I’m making excuses now. But I’ve come up with a little post schedule and since I’m officially on Thanksgiving break, I’ll be sticking to it.

I’m coming back at you with a little favorites post. I’d consider it perhaps a mid-November favorites, but I’ve been accumulating these for a while, so we’ll just call them favorites. And with the holidays so close, many of them happen to be getting me in the spirit!

Beauty items! I have a couple of trusty products that I’ve been using religiously over the past few months. To start, if you aren’t currently using the Cetaphil facial cleanser, it’s time to start. For the longest time, I was a hardcore fan of the CeraVe facial cleanser, but after talking with just about everyone I know with perfect skin, and finding out that they all used Cetaphil, I decided to make the switch. The cleanser is gentle, good for everyday use, takes off makeup, doesn’t dry, and doesn’t add any extra oil either. Plus, the scent is really fresh and my face always feels really clean after using it.

Another item that has contributed to my clear(ish) skin is the Kali Mist that I received in my Kali Box (Click here to read!) a while back. I don’t actually know the exact ingredients of the mist, but it’s a rosewater toner that I spray on my face morning and night after toning with rosewater witch hazel. Rosewater has actually done so much for my skin and I thank everything for it. The mist itself is very refreshing and perhaps my favorite part of my skincare routine.

I know that I’ve mentioned this countless times in countless posts, but I’m bringing back my Pixi Glow Mud Mask. This mask has been my favorite since I discovered Pixi products. The formula has a very muddy and thick consistency, and a little bit goes a long way. It’s cleansing and always feels amazing; I like to use it as a little pick-me-up when I’m feeling a bit down.

Although I don’t wear a lot of makeup on a normal basis, I do have a few products that really take my natural look to the next level. First off is my Smashbox Photo Finish Radiance primer. I received this sample in one of my Ipsy bags and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. The product is a shimmery, pinky-gold color and adds quite a bit of highlight and glow to your skin. I’ve noticed that when I use this under my makeup, my skin definitely looks more youthful, glowy, and pretty. It also adds a little bit of coverage, which is surprising.

Last is the infamous Benefit They’re Real! mascara. I ordered this mascara from Sephora a while back after hearing all of the hype. I absolutely love it. Nothing lengthens my lashes like this does, and although it can be a little thick if layered, one coat gives an incredible amount of volume. I can’t even imagine using a different mascara at this point.

Homeware items! I’ve got a couple of these that I’ve been loving over the past few months. First off is my Hydroflask! I’m not ashamed to admit that I finally jumped on the bandwagon and gotten one of these ridiculously overpriced water bottles. In fact, I’m totally in love with mine. The white color is super cute, the water stays cold all day, and I’ve found myself drinking 1-2 of these bottles a day. It’s definitely improved my water drinking habits. Although they are pretty pricey, I would still consider them worth it.

Next is arguably the best fall candle there is: Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin from Bath and Body Works. I’ve never been the biggest BBW fan, since most of their scents are too strong for me and give me a headache, but I’ve found true love with this candle. It’s the perfect mix of pumpkin and spice without a fake, sweet, or overpowering scent. I love to light this at night before I go to bed to get my room super cozy and it actually helps me fall asleep faster.

Finally, I have a few clothing items that I’ve really been loving lately. We’ve got to start off with festive socks! My new best friend is the Target dollar section during the holidays. I went during Halloween season and stocked up on every style they had, since each pair only costs a dollar. Just earlier this week, my friend Kay and I went to stock up on Christmas socks! I love wearing these with Vans or to cheer practice; they always add a little extra fun to my outfits.

Speaking of Vans, one of my current favorites is my pair of classic checkered slip-ons. I had never been a fan of the slip-on style until they started really coming back in. I love this pair because they’re a neutral and so they go with literally any outfit. They’re also so easy to slip on and of course look really cute with fun and festive socks!

My last favorite isn’t really a clothing item, but I did use my bow to represent it. I’ve really been loving cheer lately. Football season ended on November 3rd, which was bittersweet. It was hard to see the end of something I’ve come to love so much, but I’m just glad that I get to do it all again next year. Basketball season starts soon and with that comes a new level of excitement and adventure, but I’m not sure anything can beat a little Friday night lights. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see.

Those are all my favorites that I have for you today! Thank you for bearing with me and my unpredictable schedule. I appreciate it a lot.

xx N

Its always nice to hear from you Natalie! I like this chatty/favourites post 😄 I’ve never heard of that fancy hydroflask but I’m very interested. I always prefer to drink really cold water as opposed to room temperature 🙂

Thanks for the support, Angela! And same here, I can’t drink room temperature water at all!
