If We Were Having Coffee | 003

Hello friends!

What a time it has been! I know it’s been an awfully long time since I’ve written a post and I apologize. I wouldn’t call it lack of inspiration or ideas – since my mind is very much overflowing with them – but rather lack of time. There are tons of posts I’ve been wanting to do with absolutely no time to write or take pictures! I hope you all haven’t forgotten about me. Tell me, what have I missed in the blogging world?

I thought that since I’d been so absent lately I’d come back with another Coffee Talk post. You all seem to enjoy them, and I enjoy writing them. So, pick your poison of the night – mine happens to be Ben and Jerry’s Tonight Dough – and let’s reminisce together on the past week!

If we were having coffee, I’d first tell you about my amazing new logo from the lovely Katie of katiescorner.uk! Katie also designed Kali’s logo and is absolutely amazing at it. Definitely check her out if you’re thinking about getting a new header, she’s perfect and also FREE. Amazing for those on a budget like me!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that this summer has been, in the words of Kylie Jenner, the summer of realizing things. I’ve learned a whole lot about myself and my image, and the person who I want to be in general. I’d tell you that I’m really glad I had this realization before starting school in a couple of weeks, and I’d remind you that despite the awful image pressure that comes with high school, you can be exactly who you want to be and you can be unapologetically proud of it.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how crazy it is that I start school in two weeks. This summer has flown by faster than any summer before, and I’d tell you that in a way I’m relieved. I’m really ready to get back in the swing of things and reestablish a schedule after last year. I’d tell you that I’ve actually already found out my schedule and teachers and I’d tell you that I think it’ll be a good year, and I’m hoping only the best.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’ve spent the past month working on a local production of The Odyssey. I’d tell you that I met such amazing people and I’d tell you that joining this theater group has been the source of much of my realization. I’d tell you that I’m unbelievably happy and grateful for the people and the kindness they’ve shown me throughout all the time we’ve spent together. I’d tell you that I’m excited to be going to school with a lot of them next year.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that today was the first official practice for cheer! I’d say how crazy it is that we only have two more practices before our first football game. I’d let you know that I’m a little worried about being ready in time, but I can’t wait to start the school year with a little Friday Night Lights. We still haven’t seen our uniforms yet and I’m very excited.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that one of my super amazing, beautiful, kind, lovely friends from the theater group has also made a blog. While it’s still in its development stage, I can say now that it’ll be amazing. She’s such a delightful person and you should check her out! Her blog is honeydewlifeblog.wordpress.com, and I’d tell you that if you don’t check her out, you’ll really be missing out.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’ve been so sad being away from the blog. I really enjoy this little community and I’m sorry that I haven’t had very much time to create for you. I’d tell you that I’ve been discovering a lot of fun products that I’m excited to share, and I’d tell you that there will definitely be a lot to read with the start of school. However, I’d let you know that I’m worried about having time for the blog once school starts. I’d tell you that I hope it won’t be an issue.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m still looking for good books to read. I’m hoping to start reading some of those feminist power books that I’ve seen all over Pinterest and saved on Amazon. I’d tell you that I am currently reading Life of Pi for the billionth time and that it still stands as one of my favorite stories. An absolutely beautiful read – I’d tell you that if you haven’t read it, you should.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my 16th birthday is in twelve days! Time is really creeping up on me – I’d tell you I thought I had at least three weeks. I’d tell you that although this is my 16th, I probably won’t be making a huge deal out of it. I’d invite you all to celebrate with me, of course.

And, if we were having coffee, I’d tell you that we are finally 400! I’m so happy and amazed that so many people read my words. I’d thank all of you for everything and tell you that without you, this blog would be nothing.

That’s all for this little Coffee Talk! I wanted to keep the post fairly short, even though there’s plenty more I could talk about. I really do miss all of you; I’m planning on spending the rest of the night catching up on your posts! Make sure to leave me a little comment telling me how you’ve been. Fill me in on what’s been happening. I’d love to hear it.

My love to you, always.

You seem to have had a super productive and wonderful summer!! Taking part in a play is always a great thing to do, and as you mentioned, you can meet so many new people there.

Your new logo looks great! 🙂
That is crazy how quickly summer has flown by! But it looks like you’ve made the most of your time off – so amazing that you’ve connected with such awesome people.
I think blogging has it’s ebbs and flows. Summer months are always lighter on the blogging front. The Fall and Winter months are perfect for blogging!
Are you looking forward to your birthday? Doing anything exciting to celebrate the milestone?

The blogging seasons makes sense – hopefully I’ll have time in winter and fall because I already have so many ideas! I’m probably not doing much for my birthday but I think it’ll be nice to be finally 16. Thank you for reading!

Life of Pi is a good book, I remember reading that back in high school. Did you see the movie? I’m looking forward to a short break to catch up with friends and family before I head back to classes myself. I’m looking forward to my early birthday photos and my birthday as well.
