Pixi Glow Tonic Review

Why is the bottle full? Because I just got a new one!

Hello friends!

Ever since I discovered Pixi products a couple of months ago, I’ve been obsessed. Honestly, I’d buy everything in stock if I could. I’ve yet to try the makeup products, not due to lack of interest but rather I feel as if I wouldn’t use them as much; but the Skintreats are some of my all-time favorite products I’ve ever purchased. Today, I’d like to share with you my review on the famous Glow Tonic.

This is not the first time I’ve raved about Pixi products on the blog. In my Nighttime Skincare Routine, I talked a bit about this toner as well as a mud cleanser, which I’m using a little less these days due to the drying nature. I’d still recommend it, I’ve just adjusted the frequency to which I use it in order to reduce my dry skin!

The toner – aptly named the Glow Tonic due to the youthful glow it produces – is a 5% glycolic acid formula that exfoliates and tones your skin. This alcohol and paraben free product is sold in three sizes on the Pixi website and two in stores – 15 mL for $6.00, 100 mL for $15.00, and 250 mL for $29.00. The toner is also sold as a sample size in a skincare starter kit which runs at $22.00 and also includes a sample mud cleanser and mud mask.

Why is the picture so dark? Because sometimes outside is dark. Roll with it, guys.

The Glow Tonic is made by Pixi by Petra Beauty, a small skincare and makeup brand that is growing increasingly more and more popular with endorsements from key influencers such Caroline Hirons and Aspyn Ovard. The line of cruelty-free products sells on the Pixi Beauty website as well as other stores including Target. I would describe it as a high-end drugstore brand, with an extremely wide range of products for every skin type and tone.

Back to the toner! I’ve been using the Glow Tonic for around two months, when I first purchased it with the Best of Brights skin kit for $22.00. I had been using a Neutrogena toner previously, which hadn’t done much for my skin, so I had honestly no idea what to expect. I’ll tell you now that I cannot possibly express how much I love this toner. It has become a staple in my morning and nighttime skincare routines and a huge game-changer for my skin.

The toner works to exfoliate and even out skin tone. Before I started using the toner, I had extreme discoloration on my cheeks. Since using this product, my previous redness has gotten under control and my skin has a more even look and feel. Not to mention that the Pixi glow is real – my skin has definitely gotten a more youthful glow since introducing the Glow Tonic into my daily routine. Thank you, Glow Tonic.

Why is there so much glare? I don’t know, guys. I’m a blogger, not a photographer.

Unlike other types of skincare or makeup products, the Glow Tonic is suitable for every skin type and is gentle with sensitive skin. Key ingredients such as aloe vera, botanical extracts, and ginseng help to soothe and nourish skin whilst exfoliating gently.

Still not convinced? Not only is the Glow Tonic packed with great ingredients for every skin type, the product itself has also won awards. That’s right – the drugstore toner won a place in Mode Glam’s Top 100 Beauty products in 2015, and the claim still rings true today.

Interested in trying out this toner for yourself? Visit Pixi’s website – pixibeauty.com – or check your local Target. Curious about Pixi’s other products? Make sure to check out their wide range of makeup, moisturizers, serums, cleansers and facial masks.

It’s such a gamble with these kinds of things! It worked really well for me for a while and now my skin is getting too dry for it. I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work for you!
